Book Borrowing and Returning

1 Readers may borrow and return books at any campus library with their "campus card." Proxy borrowing or unauthorized borrowing is prohibited, and violators will be dealt with according to the relevant provisions of the "Library Violation Handling Rules.".

2 Before borrowing a book, readers must inspect it for any stains, damages, or missing pages. If any issues are found, they must promptly inform the staff, who will then handle the matter.

3 Limitation on the Total Number of Books: Faculty, staff, and graduate students are limited to 30 books, including 5 foreign language books (with a limit of 2 foreign language books for the Medical Sub-Branch). Undergraduate students are limited to 30 books, including 2 foreign language books (with a limit of 1 foreign language book for the Medical Sub-Branch).

4 The borrowing period is 30 days. A late fee will be charged for overdue materials in accordance with the provisions of "Article 4" in the "Library Violation Handling Rules.".

5 For books borrowed during winter or summer vacations, if the due date falls within the vacation period, they may be returned within 7 days after the vacation ends without being considered overdue.

6 If borrowed books reach their loan period during statutory holidays, they shall be returned the day after the holidays end, and no overdue processing will be applied.

7 Students who are on internship must return their overdue books within 7 days after returning to school upon completion of the internship. These books will not be considered overdue if they were originally due during the internship period (students must apply for an extension at the library with departmental certification by class before the internship begins).

8 Renewal: Each book can be renewed twice. The renewal process must be completed within 10 days before the current borrowing period expires by logging into "My Library" for self-service; each renewal period lasts 30 days. Books that have been reserved by other readers are not eligible for renewal.

9 Reservation: When the desired book is unavailable, readers may place a reservation through the library's homepage via self-service. They should check the online inquiry system from the following day to see if the reserved book has arrived at the library.
After the reserved book arrives at the library, readers should personally and promptly proceed to the borrowing service desk at the library where the book is located to complete the borrowing procedures. The reservation period for the book is 7 days.

10 Special Collections Reading Room, Alumni Donation Room, Special Materials Reading Room, Periodicals and Sets Reading Room, etc., provide only limited services such as reading and photocopying, with no lending available.

11 Inter-Campus Book Loan and Return Services: Readers may request to borrow books from libraries of other campuses within their own campus or return books from other campus libraries. For specific details, refer to the "Inter-Campus Book Loan and Return Service Regulations.".

12 If any of the following circumstances occur, the services such as book borrowing, entrusted borrowing, renewal, and reservation shall be suspended until the related issues are resolved, after which the reader's privileges may be reinstated:
(1) The borrowed book has expired.
(2) The outstanding amount exceeds the limit.
(3) Other violations.
